Welcome to A Daringly Different Devotional! If you’re looking for a devotional that will help you gain a greater understanding of the Scriptures and challenge you to live a Christ centered life, then you’re in the right place! My devotional dares to be different in its length, depth, and consistency; offering the reader a comprehensive take on the Word of God. Devotionals are often short and cover only a few verses whereas my “daringly different devotional” teaches you the Scriptures chapter by chapter.

The devotions have been written with teens and young adults foremost in mind. But even if you no longer consider yourself a “young person” give it a try to see what you think. It is my hope and prayer that any and all who read these daringly different devotionals will be both blessed and challenged.

Each week contains five days of devotions that walk you step by step through Scripture. In addition each day contains a principle, key verse, and application questions. The devotionals are intended to enhance a person’s daily Bible reading by delving deep into the details, offering perspective, and drawing application.

This first devotional is a 12 week study on the book of Exodus. Why Exodus? Because it’s bursting with adventure. It’s the beginning of a nation promised, delivered, and established; the nation of Israel. It’s the story of a man uniquely chosen to foreshadow Christ. It reveals God’s plan to dwell among his people. And it holds the story that echoes our own deliverance. But more than anything, it’s a heroic account of a faithful and merciful God; a God who loves you and was willing to send His Son to die in your place.

This devotional is intended for believers in Jesus Christ. But if you don’t personally know Christ as your Savior or are unsure of what that might mean, I encourage you to keep reading. It is my prayer that God will draw you unto Christ (John 6:44) as you read and study. The Bible tells us that all people have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). And the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23); an eternal death in which we are separated from God forever in hell. However the Bible also tells us that “God so loved the world that He sent his one and only Son that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). God sent his Son, Jesus, to die on a cross in your place; in my place. You simply have to repent of your sins and turn to Christ, trusting in him as your Savior! Romans 10:9 says, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Salvation is a free gift to all men but it must be accepted. It is one thing to know about God and another to actually know God.

Now as you begin this study it is my prayer that your mind will be enlightened, your heart challenged, and your soul refreshed. I pray the Scriptures will come alive for you in a new and exciting way. To God be the Glory!
